Hardwood Flooring

How do I know if my hardwood floors need to be replaced or refinished?

If your floors are deeply scratched, unevenly worn, or showing water damage, it may be time to replace rather than refinish.

Why are my hardwood floors creaking or shifting?

This can happen from subfloor movement or humidity changes. Our team can inspect the issue and recommend a long-term fix.

Can you match my existing hardwood for an addition or repair?

Yes! We carry a wide range of wood types and stains, and we’ll do our best to match your existing floors for a seamless look.

What’s the best hardwood option for high-traffic homes?

Engineered hardwood is a great choice for durability, and we’ll help you choose the right finish for daily wear.

Do hardwood floors increase home value?

Absolutely. Hardwood is one of the most sought-after features for buyers in South Charlotte and surrounding areas.

Luxury Vinyl Flooring

Is luxury vinyl a good option for homes with pets and kids?

Yes—it’s waterproof, scratch-resistant, and easy to clean, making it ideal for active households.

Can vinyl flooring be installed over existing floors?

In many cases, yes. We’ll evaluate your current floors during your estimate to see if they’re suitable for a direct install.

Why is my vinyl floor bubbling or peeling?

This can be caused by poor installation or moisture issues. We only use quality adhesives and prep methods to avoid that.

What’s the difference between LVP and LVT?

LVP mimics wood, while LVT looks like tile or stone. Both are durable and stylish, and we’ll help you choose what fits best.

Will luxury vinyl fade in sunlight?

It can over time—but we offer UV-resistant products that hold up well in sunny rooms.

Tile Flooring

Why is my grout cracking or discoloring?

Grout issues can signal movement or moisture problems. We use proper sealing and installation to ensure long-term results.

Can tile be used outside or in wet areas?

Yes! We’ll recommend water-resistant and frost-resistant tiles based on your project needs.

Is glass tile too fragile for everyday use?

Not at all. Glass tile is durable when installed correctly and works beautifully in kitchens and bathrooms.

What’s causing my tile floor to feel uneven?

An uneven subfloor or improper install could be the issue. We prep thoroughly to give your tile a smooth, level finish.

Do you offer matching grout options?

Yes—we match grout to your tile for a clean, polished final look.

Laminate Flooring

Is laminate durable enough for busy homes?

Modern laminate is scratch-resistant and ideal for high-traffic spaces like hallways and living rooms.

Why is my laminate floor swelling or lifting?

This is often caused by moisture. We install with moisture barriers where needed to prevent damage.

Does laminate look like real hardwood?

Yes—today’s laminate has realistic wood textures and tones at a fraction of the price.

Can I install laminate in a kitchen or bathroom?

It’s possible with the right type of water-resistant laminate, but we may recommend LVP for better moisture protection.

Will laminate flooring feel loud underfoot?

We use underlayment that helps reduce noise and adds comfort when walking.

Carpet Flooring

Why is my carpet wrinkling or bubbling up?

This could be due to improper stretching or padding. We install carpet tightly to avoid shifting over time.

Is carpet still a good choice for bedrooms?

Absolutely—carpet adds comfort, warmth, and sound absorption, especially in bedrooms and nurseries.

How do I choose the right carpet for high-traffic areas?

We’ll guide you to durable fibers and dense, low-pile options that resist wear.

Can new carpet help with insulation and soundproofing?

Yes—carpet naturally helps with temperature control and reduces noise between floors.

Do you remove old carpet before installing new?

Yes, our team handles all removal, disposal, and cleanup as part of our service.

Natural Stone Flooring

Why is my stone floor dull or stained?

Stone floors need regular sealing. We offer sealed options and advice for maintaining their natural beauty.

Is stone flooring slippery when wet?

Some types can be. We’ll help you select a finish that provides the grip you need for safety.

What makes natural stone different from ceramic tile?

Stone is a natural material with unique color variation and texture—no two pieces are the same.

Can natural stone be used in showers or bathrooms?

Yes—with proper sealing, stone is a stunning and durable choice for wet areas.

Does stone require special cleaning products?

We recommend gentle, pH-neutral cleaners to avoid damaging the surface or finish.

Cork Flooring

Is cork flooring durable enough for kids and pets?

Yes—cork is naturally resilient and springs back from minor dents, plus it's warm and quiet underfoot.

Why does my cork floor look faded?

Prolonged sun exposure can lighten cork. We offer UV-resistant options and recommend using window treatments.

Can cork get wet?

It’s water-resistant but not waterproof. It works well in dry spaces or lightly damp rooms when sealed properly.

Is cork eco-friendly?

Yes—cork is a renewable resource harvested without cutting down trees, making it a green flooring choice.

Does cork flooring require sealing?

To protect against moisture and wear, yes. We’ll ensure your cork floors are properly sealed during installation.

Hardwood Staining & Refinishing

Can you change the color of my hardwood floors?

Yes! We offer a wide range of stain colors and finishes to give your floors a brand-new look.

How do I know if my floors can be refinished?

If they have enough remaining thickness, we can sand and refinish them instead of replacing.

How long does the refinishing process take?

Most jobs take a few days depending on the size and finish, but we’ll give you a timeline up front.

Will there be a lot of dust during sanding?

We use dust-minimizing methods to keep your home clean and comfortable throughout the process.

Is staining included in refinishing?

Yes—if you’d like to change the color, we’ll walk you through stain samples during your consultation.
